About

Pocket Verdict started as a group chat where a few of us kept swapping screenshots of weird little mobile games nobody was talking about. At some point we figured we should just write things down properly, so here we are.

Everything you read here comes from real play sessions. We don't skim a trailer and call it a review. Someone on the team actually installs the game, plays it for a few days minimum, and takes notes on how it feels on an average phone, not a flagship device.

We pick games mostly by curiosity. If a title looks strange, charming, or made by a tiny team pushing an idea, it goes on our list. Genre doesn't matter much to us, we cover fishing sims, RPGs, racers, card games, whatever catches our attention.

The site runs on our own time and a bit of shared budget. We're not chasing traffic numbers, we just want the reviews to be useful when you're standing in a queue deciding what to download.

Mateusz Kowalski — Mateusz has been reviewing mobile games since the early touchscreen days and still keeps three phones on his desk for testing. He mostly plays on the train.
