Big Bass Fishin

We recently spent a full week with Big Bass Fishin and it quietly became the game a couple of us open before bed. The core is simple: pick a spot, cast your line, and time your reel-ins as the fish tugs. But the timing has real weight to it, and landing a big one after a long fight feels genuinely earned.

Controls are one thumb most of the time. You flick to cast, hold to reel, and ease off when the tension bar creeps too high. It took maybe ten minutes to click, and after that it becomes muscle memory. The different lakes change up the fish behaviour enough that you actually adjust your approach instead of spamming the same motion.

There's a light progression layer where you unlock new rods and locations, but it never nags you or blocks your fun. Sessions are short and self-contained, which is exactly what a mobile game should be. The water animation and ambient sound do a lot of heavy lifting for the calm mood.
